Stars, including the Duchess of York, attend Lisa Marie Presley’s memorial service

After Lisa Marie Presley passed away at the age of 54, a public funeral was performed for her.

Attended by famous people like the Duchess of York, the funeral was held on Sunday at her father’s Graceland mansion in Memphis, Tennessee.

The US singer, who was Elvis Presley’s only child, passed away on January 12 just hours after being transported to the hospital.

At Graceland, Lisa Marie will be interred close to her son Benjamin Keough, who passed away in 2020.

Along with her children, Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, and the previous mayor of Memphis, Lisa Marie was honored by performers including Alanis Morissette and Axl Rose.

After the public was allowed to attend the service, photographs of Lisa Marie being held aloft by crowds of mourners appeared.

Priscilla Presley, her mother, appeared on the platform on the estate’s front lawn and expressed her gratitude to everyone for attending to celebrate her daughter.

She also read a poem written by her granddaughter Harper, one of Lisa Marie’s three kids, in which she proclaimed that her mother had been her hero in many different ways.

Riley, Lisa’s daughter, wrote a poem that was read aloud “I wish I could love my daughter as you did for me. the way you care for my sister and brother. I’m grateful to you for giving me my heart, my courage, my humor, and my strength.”

In her tribute to her “sissie,” the Duchess of York also pledged her support to the late singer’s children.

Grief is the price we pay for love, and how true my late mother-in-law was when she observed that nothing can be spoken to even begin to ease the suffering of these moments.

Alanis Morissette gave an emotional performance of her song Rest as part of the musical tributes at the event.

November Rain by the group was performed by Axl Rose, and To Sheila by The Smashing Pumpkins was sung by Billy Corgan.

The gospel song How Great Thou Art was next, followed by Sweet, Sweet Spirit by the Blackwood Brothers Quartet, who had previously performed at her father’s funeral in 1977 although with different members.

At Graceland, there is also a cemetery for Elvis and other Presley family members.
