After Kevin de Bruyne of Manchester City had objects thrown at him during their 3-1 victory over Arsenal on Wednesday night, the Football Association opened an investigation.
After being replaced late in the game, the midfielder was attacked while he was strolling around the field.
It’s possible that referee Anthony Taylor mentioned it in his game report.
Arsenal says they are reviewing Surveillance evidence and will apply strong sanctions if the perpetrators are found.
A Gunners spokeswoman further stated, “This is wrong and will not be accepted.”
De Bruyne scored a goal and assisted on another as City overtook Arsenal as the league’s top team.
With the caption “beer anyone?,” the Belgian international shared a photo of himself at Emirates Stadium on social media.
With a cup in the air close to him, De Bruyne shared another image with the words “thanks!”
Gunners 1-3 “This may be the night momentum in the title race,” said Man City.
