Jhon Duran, a 17-year-old Colombian attacker, has been acquired by Aston Villa for £18 million from Chicago Fire.
In 28 games for Chicago, Duran, 19, has eight goals and six assists.
Duran, who has three Colombian caps, will cost Villa £14.75 million, with a further £3.3 million in add-ons.
He follows the arrival of fullback Alex Moreno for £13.2 million from Real Betis earlier this month as Unai Emery’s second acquisition at the club.
After Danny Ings left for West Ham, the forward will face up against striker Ollie Watkins, who has five goals so far this year.
Villa has won three of its last four league games and is currently ranked 11th in the Premier League.
