Former world number one Stacy Lewis will continue serving as the US Solheim Cup captain in 2024

Stacy Lewis, a former world champion, will continue to serve as the United States’ captain at the 2024 Solheim Cup.

Lewis will continue to serve as captain in Gainesville, Virginia, in 2019 and the event in Andalucia, Spain, in 2023.

Later this year, the 38-year-old, a two-time Solheim Cup champion as a player, will take over as the competition’s youngest captain ever.

Lewis exclaimed, “This is such a great honor.”

“Getting the first call was one of the highlights of my career, and I’m so happy to get this second opportunity,” the applicant said.

Lewis, a 13-time LPGA Tour champion, competed in four Solheim Cups and was a member of the 2015 and 2017 US winning teams.

In 2021, she worked with Pat Hurst as an assistant captain as well.

The 2022 Solheim Cup will be held in Finca Cortesin from September 22–24.

In order to keep the cup in 2021, Europe defeated the US 15–13 at the Inverness Club in Ohio. The Americans currently hold a 10-7 series advantage.
