Davide Nicola is reinstated as manager of Salernitana two days after being fired.

Just two days after being fired by the Serie A underdogs, Davide Nicola has been reinstated as the manager of Salernitana.

Nicola, 49, was fired on Monday after Atalanta defeated him 8–2.

Danilo Iervolino, the club president, claimed he had a change of heart after speaking “a thousand positive words” to Nicola during their conversation.

Iervolino added, “You don’t realize how much you love someone until they go.

“We could only do it to resolve the situation. Therefore, it is only fair that the coach be given another chance with the assurance that the squad won’t ever again suffer such a humiliating loss for the benefit of the club, the players, and everything.”

Nicola praised Iervolino and sporting director Morgan De Sanctis for giving him another chance. He was first appointed in February of last year.

I want to reciprocate his faith with all of my love because it means that the new football is developed with passion and heart, he continued.

To attain our goals, we still have weeks of arduous work ahead of us.

After 18 games, Salernitana is 16th in Serie A.
