Andrey Santos (in the middle) and his teammates are happy.
Andrey Santos did very well in the recent South American Under-20 Championship. He will go back to his old team, Vasco de Gama, on loan because he couldn’t get a work permit.
Santos, who plays for Brazil’s Under-20 team, moved to Stamford Bridge in January in a deal that was said to be worth £18m.
In 2021, when he was 16, he played his first game for a professional team. He helped Vasco get back into Brazil’s top league.
He won the South American Under-20 Championship with Brazil last month.
Santos scored the first goal in the final against Uruguay, and he tied for the most goals in the tournament with six.
Chelsea said in a statement that Santos now has “the chance to grow even more” in Brazil’s Serie A.
